CTIVITIES
.--The Sec-
1
retary, acting through--
2
``(1) the Director of the Centers for Disease Con-
3
trol and Prevention, shall conduct prevention research
4
on breast cancer in younger women, including--
5
``(A) behavioral, survivorship studies, and
6
other research on the impact of breast cancer di-
7
agnosis on young women;
8
``(B) formative research to assist with the
9
development of educational messages and infor-
10
mation for the public, targeted populations, and
11
their families about breast health, breast cancer,
12
and healthy lifestyles;
13
``(C) testing and evaluating existing and
14
new social marketing strategies targeted at
15
young women; and
16
``(D) surveys of health care providers and
17
the public regarding knowledge, attitudes, and
18
practices related to breast health and breast can-
19
cer prevention and control in high-risk popu-
20
lations; and
21
``(2) the Director of the National Institutes of
22
Health, shall conduct research to develop and validate
23
new screening tests and methods for prevention and
24
early detection of breast cancer in young women.
