The Christmas Scrooge By Abp. Leslie "Mary" Trombly
Nothing is worse than a Christmas Scrooge. We have all read the story by Charles Dickens called "A Christmas Carol". Scrooge was a miserly old man who cared little about anyone or anything but Money! Money! Money! We all know that he changed his ways after a visit from his old and very dead partner, Marley and a visit from three Christmas Ghosts. I want to tell you about another type of Scrooge that not only destroys the true meaning of Christmas but keeps their Scroogie ways all year. It is the type of scrooge that sets about destroying the real meaning of Christmas by getting laws and Ordinances passed that forbid the display of the very thing that Christmas is! The Nativity. The Nativity is a reminder of what Christmas really is - the birth of the Messiah and Redeemer of the World! Not just the United States of America, but for the whole world ! Now those in this world are seeking to destroy the one thing that can save them! Christ! Look at the word "Christmas". What is the first thing you see? Christ! That is what you see. It is Christ the Lord that Christmas is all about, but He has more meaning to him than just his birth. Let's look at what He is and what the "Scrooges" of the world have done to him. He is a Great and wonderful teacher of what is true and what is false and He taught us how to pray. The scrooges have tossed this great teacher out on His ear from the schools and thrown out the prayer He taught us along with Him. Instead they chose everything else from Darwinism to Satanism and that is perfectly ok. The mere mention of God brings dissent and sheer hatred at the mention of his name. He is a great public speaker and had the crowds wanting to hear him all the time; but the scrooges of the world have made sure that he is silenced and anyone who dares to speak out in public about him is tossed in jail. In Jesus day, they crucified Him. Today they are still crucifying Him by trying to force him out of existence. He is a great healer, but the physicians of the world, on the majority chose to take the credit for a life that is saved and deny that faith in the Lord had anything to do with it. When patients try to tell the Doctors they when they had temporarily died and saw either heaven or hell, the doctors chalk it up to the electricity in the brain and what we were taught or heard. They not only refuse to believe that it could be true, but they become convinced that the "patient" has totally lost his/her mind. The Scrooges of the world are found in churches where many a so-called minister, evangelist, priest or rabbi use the word of God against God or to deceive or outright lie and worse yet, twist the truth so it matches what they want people to think and to glorify themselves. When someone stands up for the truth the churches ridicule them and call them blasphemers and heretics. Cheer up those who stick by the truth - They did it to Jesus first. I take it as a compliment; because I know that I am telling the truth and walking in His footsteps as best I can. The scrooges of the world\'s Churches drive people away from the House of God, leaving them as empty as they were when they first entered. The scrooges of the world churches leave God's children groping around in the darkness with no promise of light and love or eternal life ! Jesus was also a great prophet, but many of the "so-called" prophets of today are nothing but liars and deceivers and money grubbers. Those that are truth prophets seek no fame, no glory and no money. They are simply the Messengers of God and want only to do His will. Many true prophets are only known to a few and that is because the message that God wanted delivered is only delivered to those who will hear and believe. The scrooges of the world refuse to believe anything but what their eyes can see, feel and touch. They expect any prophecy given, should happen immediately - in their time. It doesn't work that way. God sends messages to His people and it may not happen right then and there or even in their life time, but they do happen as they were given. Each true and God-called prophet only gets one piece of the puzzle and when all the pieces are put together you get to see the whole picture. The scrooges of the world call it fantasy and that the person is hallucinating or just plain crazy. Just as they call believing in a God you can't see physically - a crutch for the weak-minded. How little they know! The scrooges of the world try to destroy people's faith in God by telling them that he doesn't exist or that God is one who doesn't care, because if he did - then why is there so much suffering? They do not know that the suffering in this world is because He gave us the free will to chose between right and wrong, to make the right decisions with him or the wrong ones without him. They then set about with their false beliefs in pagan gods, Satanism or no belief at all to convince them that is the only way and that they really do know that their false religion is true or at least satan give you what you want - they neglect, however, to tell you that if you side with satan you gave your soul to him and it is His until you ask God to save you. The scrooges of the world even attack God, himself. How? By removing His Ten Commandments from every place they can. Could it be they can\'t stand it because it reminds them of the fact that they have, at one time or another, broken almost all of the commandments and they are Sinners? The scrooges of the world keep trying to get you to believe that this is the only world you have and once you are dead \-- You are DEAD. There is nothing else. They also try to get you to believe that material gain is the only lasting wealth you will ever have \-- so go for it! Wrong ! True wealth come the form of faith, hope, love, charity, compassion, the ability to forgive, loving one another as God has loved you, and doing unto others as you would have them do unto you \-- even when they do not. If you chose to believe in a scrooge's non-belief in God, you still end up in the Lake of fire. They even resort to the "Theory of Evolution" (Darwinism) If we were primoral sludge in the beginning, then we would still be primoral sludge now - unless we were washed away in a roaring gush of water or buried further underground under a heap of dirt or sand!! Sorry scrooges! We were created in the image of God. In Conclusion, I have one thing to say to all the scrooges of the world that think they can wipe God and His son off the face of the earth, by their actionsd the land, but you can not and will not wipe out God from the hearts of His True Children or those who serve Him to the best of their ability! I hope that those who are reading this are not scrooges in anyway and if they know a scrooge like this....give them this!
