Miss California victim of Gay intolerance of different views by Mar Matthias Darin The Miss USA pageant has certainly been marred by controversy this year. Miss California Carrie Prejean, was asked by judge Perez Hilton (who convienently is an open gay gossip blogger): "Vermont recently became the fourth state to
legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit?
Why or why not?"
For which she replied: "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex
marriage or opposite marriage, and you know what, I think my country, in
my family, I that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and
a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."
After the pageant, Hilton made his biased views clear: She lost, not because she doesn't believe in gay
marriage. Miss California lost because she's a dumb bitch, OK?"
If Miss USA is not supposed to be a political or religious platform, then why ask such divisive questions? Miss California was asked her OPINION, "do you think"... If Hilton wanted a polictcally correct answer, then he should have asked the question in a different manner. However, I submit the Hilton should not have been a judge to begin with. He is clearly a biased heterophobe by his deflamatory and unprofessional behavior. I believe the Miss USA pageant has been permanently damaged and this situation only fosters the continued belief that the pageant is rigged to begin with. Quite frankly, if I was sponsoring it, I would withdraw my sponsorship simply because of Hilton's sexist remarks. Furthermore, there will always be the over-shadowing question of whether the current title holder, Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton, is truly deserving of that title. This situation does; however; showcase a more serious problem. The gay community wants tolerance towards their point of view. Why should they receive it when the same community shows such intolerance to anyone that disagrees with them? The only way the gay community is going to gain tolerance is to show tolerance. People like Perez Hilton, Barney Frank, and groups like Code Pink have undermined the very cause they seek by their actions.

Perez Hilton had no reason to be a judge.
