Along for the Ride! Update 3

Along for the Ride! (AFTR) has done
exceptionally well since I put it online. I am now moving from Beta to
Stable. Both the MouseOver and Click methods are performing as expected
and I haven't had any issues reported regarding the code.
The only real issue that I am working on
currently is it seems that most people (browser users) do not realize
just how powerful MouseOver truly is. I am thinking of adding a delay
to the MouseOver algorithm so that the mini-window doesn't open
immediately upon the mouse going over the AFTR box.
The situation can be easily repeated. Here
is the scenario: the visitor moves there mouse to the column or side
panel where the AFTR box is then reverts to using the arrow keys to
scroll the page. Upon doing so, the mouse inadvertently goes over the
AFTR box, thus triggering it. The visitor being unaware of the side
panel contents, thinks the AFTR mini-window is a pop up.
An easy fix to this is to simply move the
AFTR widget outside the normal places a visitor may use to "rest" or
part their mouse while reading, as I have done here.
I am also contemplating making the size of
the mini-window change in accordance to the size of the visitor's screen
based upon an equation. This is still very much on the chalk board,
though.
The AFTR member's list now tracks visits for
today and visits this month.

I release this information as a validity test
to the operations of AFTR and as a part of the transparency for AFTR as
a traffic sharing method. Verifying traffic is done by looking for each
of the above member sites in one server logs. The referrer is the site
sending the visitor and is only my server if it is the one actually
sending the visitor. The values represent actual confirmed visitors.

To the AFTR members, thank
you for helping me perfect the code and build a traffic model
that actually works without spending all day clicking for table scraps
of traffic.
For every one who hasn't joined yet, but
might be looking for another avenue for traffic, take a look and visit
each of the member sites. Check the AFTR widget out. Its free, so if
you don't join, you're just missing out on good quality traffic as I
hand approve all sites to maintain the quality.
