California Supreme Court and Proposition 8

by Mar Matthias Darin

I've written of the issue of Gay marriages already so I'm not going to beat this dead horse any more. I think that we now need to look at the legal details of Proposition 8 in lieu of the Supreme Court of California quite possibly overturning the people's vote a second time.

At this point, whether or not Proposition 8 is valid is a moot topic. As I said above, the people of California voted on it twice and passed it twice. Now I believe the issue becomes a matter of how much does California value and listen to the voice of the people. If the California Supreme Court does over turn Proposition 8, what precedent are we establishing in regards to the vote of the people. If the people's vote doesn't matter and can be over turned after two elections, then what value is our vote and do we still live in a democracy?

A government that ignores the voice of the people is not a democracy, but rather a dictatorship. Many people in this country are already questioning the democracy of our government when Congress is spending trillions of tax payer dollars against the will of the people. If Proposition 8 is over turned, the minority gay militants will be happy... After all, they usurped the entire elective democratic process to get their way.

Will this become the standard by which all minority groups undermine elections? How far will this go? What if there was a minority out cry against a presidential election? Would the United States Supreme Court declare the entire election process invalid and put who they wanted in as president?

What a tangled web of deceit and lies the far-left Democrats are weaving and sooner or later the boiling point of this nation is going to burst. As the gay militant groups have proved, violence and mob riots are becoming the choice tools to sway laws. Will they feel the same when they are the victims of their own devices?

I believe we may very well be on the verge of a revolution in this country.

When you have lost everything, you have nothing to lose. That's when you end up losing it, if you know what I mean.
