More changes to the blog and a couple of rants

by Mar Matthias Darin

That's right a couple of rants... You know what that means. Hide the kiddies and the old folks! Its gonna get real ugly real quick!

I'm sure I bugged out a few poor souls today as I made more changes... Yes, more of them. I added a list latest seven articles to the right column, a contact form, fixed the blasted bouncing one of my widgets was doing, removed my dead blogroll, and rebalanced the columns.

Which I suppose brings me to my next rant. I know, its been a while since I ranted last. But fear not... The rantings will go on as long as the world is filled with stupid people. Back to this rant for now...

I visit a large number of blogs daily and do a lot of reading. Its very disturbing though to go to a blog that as lop-sided as our government. How hard can it be to balance a couple of columns so they don't look drunk? For crying out loud, it only take a few minutes. Its not like all the stuff in the columns has to be retyped. Are people that damned lazy that they can't even use cut and paste?

Its common sense, if a blog looks like crap, people aren't going to return. This is not rocket science. Sheesh, here I am thinking I'm a lazy lead ass for putting up a new article every three days or so. Hey, two rants for the price of one...

I can't count the number of invitation I get to visit blogs. I love reading fresh content and there are a lot of good blogs to read. However; it really pisses me off to get an invitation to visit a blog and the owner hasn't updated the damned thing since last year. Send me an invitation after the the blog is updated...

While I'm on the subject of being pissed off... Another thing that really gets my ire going is coming acrossed a blog that is dead and abandoned. Most people don't leave trash laying around the houses... So why the hell are they leaving it all over the internet? The internet is not supposed to be the great intergalactic cyber garbage dump!

Lets be honest here, if you are going to put up a blog, at least be a weekend blogger. Don't trash the search engines with useless, abandoned junk. Hell, its already hard enough to get anywhere in the damned things as it is...

A blog can have the best content on the planet, but if it looks like crap, has way too damned many advertisements, obnoxious pop-ups, or hasn't been updated since the last time Congress did something useful, who the hell wants to visit it?

A blog is like a garden, its got to be nurtured, watered, fertilized, and tended to on a regular basis. Once a year or once every six months doesn't cut it.

If the crappy looking, no content blogs gave off as much carbon dioxide as Congress does, we'd all be dead...

LOL!

My dear Matthias,

Seems like you hit one too many of those kind of Blogs lately.

Blogs that are well preened and flowering each day are called Blogs.

Blogs that are abandoned and left to rot each day are called Blugs.

lmao....

HAHAHA! No argument there... Probably spending too much time on this thing (grin).

Most of said blogs are purely for advertising or just funnel type blogs, so looks are not important.
