A Long Time by Rev, Mother Theresa Darin Blessings of love in Jesus to you all; Today I would like to share this special message with you all. I know that many of us in this day are sometimes confused on why some of us are going through things of illness, pain, blindness, and other forms of disabilities that we sometimes question why? As I read our loving Father's word I send this message that I pray will give you the answers. The message is called A Long Time Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for a feast of the Jews. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie - the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, 'Do you want to get well?' A few years ago when I reached my 20th year of living in a wheelchair, I was reading scripture: "Then I thought to myself, you've been paralyzed for almost as many years as the man by the Pool of Bethesda! Isn't that amazing?" It gave me goosebumps! Later in the day, as I read John 5:1-6 aloud, I got a lump in my throat when I read the words, "When Jesus... learned he had been in this condition for a long time...." I paused while tears of amazement and wonder filled my eyes. I looked up from the Bible and said, "Twenty years in this wheelchair is a long time. And it touches me that Jesus thinks 20 years of paralysis is a long time, too. He understands!" The Lord Jesus understands the weight of every burden you quietly bear. Nothing escapes his notice, for he empathizes with our weaknesses and, in fact, understands them better than we ever will! Hebrews 4:16 assures us that "... we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin." God of all comfort, keep me from complaining if my burden seems heavy. Help me to follow in your footsteps and endure every weakness without the sin of resentment or complaint Thank you In Jesus Name Amen. More than we do with all those nails piercing Him. Thanks for being out here. Peace Comments from tahtimbo 71.209.43.40 I want to thank you very much for those words. They are exactly what I needed to hear. There are many times when I feel that I am all alone in how I feel and the burdens I am carrying. Yes, I do pray all the time; I have a habit of just talking to God about most everything, but for some reason your post has left me thinking that, even though my burdens may seem small, God cares for me and understands what I am going through. His word never comes back empty and this is a prime example of that. Thank you! Comments from Rev. Mother Theresa Darin You're welcome.
