Global warming or global cooling by Mar Matthias Darin I've seen the science and the evidence for both global warming and global cooling. The debate rages and both sides accuse the other of incorrect facts while stating vehimately that they are correct. However, I have a question and a testable theory - what if the Earth is warming and cooling simultaneously? Well, this can actually be tested with a very simple experiment. You'll need some thermometers, a bucket (at least a couple of feet wide) of ice and water, a fan, some pipe cleaners or flexible modeling wire (pipe cleaners are the best though), pencil and paper, and a warm or hot day. First, fill the bucket with a bag of ice and then fill it to the very top with water. Run off from the melting ice will be a problem as well as the fan blowing the water out, so this experiment should be done outside. Second, place the fan so the its blades pass directly over the bucket and close enough (within a half inch) of the bucket lip. Pay close attention not to let the fan get wet. You want the air of the fan to hit the water but not directly. The air needs to pass over and skim the water. Make sure the fan is working safely. Third, using the pipe cleaners, tie a thermometer to the front of the fan so that the thermometer hangs directly in the breeze of the fan Be sure you can read the temperature easily. Now put a thermometer in the water, but where you can easily read the temperature. Now tie a thermometer to the outer edge of the bucket on the opposite side of where the fan is, (using the handle) but keep the thermometer out of the water and dry and in the wake of the fan. We will be taking various reading so set up a chart on your paper with a column for each thermometer placement. Now that we have the experiment ready, take your initial readings. Be sure to do this before you turn the fan on, then turn the fan on. Take readings from each thermometer every fifteen minutes. You'll need to do this for at least 3 to four hours. You should have 16 readings for each column. At the end on the experiment, you should see something interesting. The ice in the bucket has melted either partially or completely and the readings have confirmed that the water has indeed gotten warmer, thus evidence of global warming. You should also notice that the thermometers at the end of the fan and and bucket show at least slightly cooler temperatures than the initial reading, thus evidence of global cooling. So what have we proved in this simple experiment? Is it Global Warming or Global Cooling? The experiment shows it's actually both and here's why: the bucket of water represents the ocean. The ice represent the arctic areas and Greenland. Now why did we need a thermometer before the bucket (hanging from the fan), and after the bucket (standing up from the handle? The thermometer before the bucket is dry air that simulates the wind coming off a continental land mass and the one after the bucket simulates the effect of the wind coming off the ocean. With the results our of grade school experiment, why can the world's scientists conclude the same results? After all, they have a lot more money and resources to study this on a global scale. Ironically, the answer to this question is easier then understanding the results of the above experiment. If the world's scientists actually admitted that the Earth suffer from both global warming and global cooling, no one group has an exclusive hold on the market, thus there is less profit per individual of a given side. The world's scientists are suffering from something far worse and more sinister then the Earth. They have Global Narcissism, a disease to which there is no known cure. Sad, but true, the greatest minds on our planets have a horridly vile sickness that can't be treated... It is important to note that the global narcissism that is running ramped through out the scientific community does not negate our responsibilities for taking care of the Earth. Remember, we one have one Earth. Top tags: fan, global, bucket, thermometer, experiment, cooling, warming, earth, ice, readings Comments from The BoBo 97.102.153.238 Very interesting indeed! Comments from Preston 68.80.185.105 I think what is happening is a naturally occurring event that is exacerbated by man's reckless use of the planet. Comments from Mar Matthias Darin The BoBo: Thank you. Preston: Going be the scientic evidence and future temperature forecasts, I have to agree.
