EntreCard users: Make your EC Drops less frustrating

I've spent enough time using EntreCard to know that pages without the widget are a royal pain in the @$$. So being the innovative person that I am, I tend to solve my problems with a little programming. I came up with a little script that keeps track of people that drop on my site. Thanks to EntreCard's "Recent Drop" RSS, the job is a lot easier.

From here, its a simple matter to check each site for the widget... If my little jewel of a script finds it, then the page gets listed on my drop list. My wonderful little solution has the last 325 visitors that have dropped their card on my site. A bonus to this is that my list is DO FOLLOW.

The best part is my drop list is easy to get on, just drop on my card and you'll automatically be added to the list at the next update. Its that easy and unlike those linky thingys, my list is always changing so there are lots of new sites to visit. I no longer waste my time on sites that don't have the widget on them. Times vary, but I can now drop my card on 100 sites in about twenty to thirty minutes. This is without gaming the system or breaking the rules. My drops are by the book all the way and I get to spend more time reading and commenting and less time searching for the widget. After all, isn't that the point.

So, if you're just as tired and frustrated as I was about getting drops from sites without the EntreCard widgets, try my drop list, but please remember don't drop and run - participate as well. This list is not meant to undermine the integrity of EntreCard, only enhance it.

Hi.

I just read that Entrecard defined new rules. There's info about this on Entrecard site/blog from 16/09. One of the new rules is all blogs must have a widget. Hope my blog NC passes their new criteria.

That's a great idea. No widget blogs will now say byebye to EntreCard as they shall be deleted in the system without warning. We need to report them to the EC admin.

Mizi: This criteria has been there since I joined, but I've found sites that get around it be putting the widget on their about page or some other obscure page that you have to search for. I look for the widget on the page you go to when you click on an E-Card from your Drop Inbox or from the Recent Droppers RSS.

I'm working on a way to weed out the "Invalid User" drops as well...
