A Father's Day Remembrance

This father's day will bring fond memories of fathers who have long since passed away or recently passed away. There will be a celebration with fathers who are still living; but there is always one father that is always left out of the equation, forgotten or just plain doesn't even exist for some. How sad! How very sad this is!

This special father loves his children unconditionally, he never fails them and he disciplines with patience and love. He would never hurt a child of his and is willing to sacrifice anything and everything for his children. He is protective of them and he is a wonderful teacher for them. This father is one that never dies, nor goes away. This father is here for you, all the days of your life.

I. Defining this special Father:

First of all, the father I am talking about created us. Each are separate and unique individuals and no two are alike. If they were twins of triplets, they may look alike but yet they are still separate and unique individuals.

Secondly, He gave us all a very special Gift; Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." What a gift! Salvation is the best gift anyone could ever get because it gives you a life without end!

Thirdly, The character of the Father is: (1) Approachable (2) Forgiving (3) Creative (4) Knowable (5) Honest (6) Loving (7) Patient (8) Merciful (9) Capable (10) sacrificed what he loved most for his children (11) Willing to always have his home open to His children (12) Judges righteously and fairly (13) Disciplines with Love and not out of anger and (14) Slow to anger.

II. How do we know this kind of Father exists?

A. Genesis 1:1 - Tells us that "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." [This is proved completely through the first and second chapters of Genesis.]

B. We are created in His image -- Yes we do not all look alike or are of the same color, but nevertheless we ARE created in His image. [Genesis 1:26-27]. When you look into the Mirror you see the image of God in you! But remember "YOU ARE NO GOD!

C. All the things in and on the earth and sea He created. It was not from any "Big Bang" theory !

D. Consider this if we were from primordial sludge or came from the sea, then why are we not seeing more primeval Monkeys evolving into humans if we are "supposed to have evolved from them? Why aren't the fish of the sea are not coming upon the land and evolving also into humans?

E. Other than having a Special father like this who else could create in us the innate ability to think, touch, smell and taste or know love, pain or sorrow or for that matter give us the free will to choose to become a permanent part of his family and home or to go our own way or the way of evil?

F. What other father would give us a heart and mind to choose to love or hate or even have a conscious, so that we would not only be aware of our surroundings, but also know right from wrong?

You would have to go to the extreme to begin to convince me that this very special father doesn't exist!

III. How Can we get to know Him and who He is?

Do you remember the old AT&T telephone ads that said "reach out and touch someone"? Well you can and you do not even need a telephone to reach this very special father! All you have to do is have a voice and if you have no voice with which to speak you have a heart and mind and you can reach him. All you have to do is ask Him to become part of your life, forgive you of your sins and to direct your footsteps.

His name is God/Jehovah and you can reach him through His son, Jesus Christ. Why through His son? Because Jesus tells us in John 14:6-7 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him."

God's message to all of you, whom he has created before the very foundations of the world, is that: HE loves you! HE cares for you and HE wants you to accept the free gift of salvation so you can spend eternity with HIM!

Finally, why don't you Reach out and Touch Him? You will be blest and have a hole that has been in your heart for a long time finally filled with His love and mercy!
