Short circuiting democracy

The push for Clinton to quit has become stronger. Why should she quit? Isn't the point of democracy to let the will of the people be heard? To me, this sounds like the Obama pundits and supporters are scared that he is incapable of winning and the only way he'll win is by default (Clinton quitting).

Perhaps, the Obama maniacs just can't handle the truth that Obama is not the squeaky clean candidate they hoped for, and that he is nothing more then just another politician that will lie, cheat and steal his way to the Whitehouse.

Remember, Texas is still holding at 41% of its caucus vote counted with absolutely no intentions of finishing and if Howard Dean has his way, Florida will once again get screwed (I still remember the 300,000 missing Florida ballots, do you?) Just possibly that could be the reason Florida wanted to get their primary out of the way. After all, it is eight years later and they are still being humiliated over the 2000 election.

As for Michigan, Obama actively chose to remove his name from the Michigam ballot. Why? It didn't cost him anything to leave it there.

The Democratic Party is sounding more and more like the Totalitarian Party. Obama only wants to hear from those that support him and does not want to hear the voices of the voters from Michigan or Florida. What type of democracy is that?

Its beginning to become apparent that this election will be decided by the elite members of Congress and the voices of this nation are going to be ignored. Either way the vote goes, until the candidates reach the appropriate amount of delegates, there is no reason for either side to drop out, except for the fear of loosing.

It is clear that we must change our election process as the election should be done according to the people, not super-delegates or any other elite group of people. This nation can not be a democracy and a dictatorship at the same time, either one or the other.

I vote for a complete overhaul of the entire election process or should I say mess.

Great post. I totally agree, lets wait and let it all play out. And I was not happy with Time magazine in its issue that came out today - They have Obama on the cover, and over him it says "And the winner* is... *really we are pretty sure this time
