Against the odds: 2 1/2 foot woman gives birth to healthy baby by Mar Matthias Darin Source: Times of India Meena Dheemar, a two and one half foot woman, went against the odds and delivered a healthy 4 pound baby. "What made the case special were the parents of the child. Not only is the mother a dwarf, the father is crippled by polio. He can only crawl and drag himself on the ground," Dr P K Shrivastava, the surgeon who led the operation, told Times of India. "Given her small physique, anaesthesia and surgery were a challenge." "Normal delivery was ruled out because of the mother's structure. It was not possible and would never happen since it puts the mother's life in danger. Seeing Meena's condition, we could not wait any longer as it would have complicated the case further," Dr Srivastava said. Finally, gynaecologists P Sthapak and Pratibha Srivastava decided to do a caesarean 23 days before the due date. GOD bless Meena and her husband, Manoj. I love it when GOD works such miracles and proves that modern medicine doesn't always know what's "best." Sadly, doctors in United States would have pushed the Dheemar couple into an abortion with scare tactics. This wonderful miracle just shows that our "modern" mid-evil thinking world is still rules by idiots and GOD always knows what is best.
