The Social Bookmarking Plague

by Mar Matthias Darin

YouTube, MySpace, FaceBook, and many other social bookmarking sites have found themselves in a quandary of trouble by allowing unmoderated postings of violent acts.

Simply providing a "Report this" link in not good enough. Active moderation of the content uploaded is the only way way to discourage and stop incidents like what happened in Florida with the seven teens assaulting the 16 year old victim.

Its time to make these places think about the consequences of their actions. I believe the victim should sue YouTube for everything she can get. I say its time to make an example and send a clear message that irresponsible providers will be held accountable for their greed infested perfidious behavior.
